Tips for effective web design

Here are some web design is essential that all websites should follow. Design your web site by following these tips and I guarantee that visitors will have a good first impression of your site.

1. Loading times website templates - This is the tip number, a web designer should follow. You can design a site that looks fantastic but few people are going to see if it takes a long time to download. Your plan is optimized for the web, and not more than 15 seconds to load. Remember that you can be elegant, but very few people are going to see if it takes a long time to download. Click here for 10 tips for fast loading website.

2. A second clear navigation - Once a visitor came to your site, you must let them go through your site. To do this you must have a clear navigation. Make sure all your important links are conspicuous places. Preferably just above - it's usually where a visitor first looks. To use menus on the right and left. Try to link to many pages on your site. Leave your information is accessible from all parts of the site. You never know what a visitor might be interested in. Also, try using the footer for your important links. Click here for tips navigation.

3. All resolutions - Today, there are computers with all kinds of resolution. Ranging from 640 x 480 1024 x 768 and more. Your job is to design your site to all these resolutions. The best approach is to design your site in terms of percentage and not pixels. Click here to learn how to design websites for all screen resolutions.

4. Browser Compatibility - Make sure your site is compatible browser. Your website should look good in Netscape and Internet Explorer. Do not stop designing your site as soon as you find it looks great in IE. Usually, Netscape gives some problems, especially when it comes to complicated HTML designs. But do not give up too soon, usually with patience these problems can be easily corrected.

5. Readable and professional looking fonts - Do not ask me how many times I clicked on a site just because the policy is in Comic Sans and the color is a bright pink or green. Just by looking at the font you feel that the place is not a professional website. Do not use Comic Sans and other fancy fonts that may not be available on most computers. If the font you use is not available on a computer site visitors will use the default font on your computer, which is much worse. So try to stick to Web fonts in general and professional. The fonts that I always stick to are Arial and Verdana.

6. Minimize the use of images - I believe that sometimes simple designs are most effective for the Web. Keep your site simple but clean. Do not clutter your page with big, bulky images that have much to charge. Instead use tables creatively and design eye - catching icons that will draw the attention of a visitor to a specific section of your site. Tip - Visitors are usually more interested in content than in design.

7. The use of white space - Try not to clutter your page with too many images, backgrounds and font colors. Again using the Keep It Simple principle by minimizing the use of graphics and use plenty of white space. White space gives a feeling of cleanliness and spaciousness to a global site. Note the blank space on our site.

8. Check broken links - always check for broken links on a site before uploading it to your Web server. In Dreamweaver, you can check broken links by right clicking a file on the site files window and then clicking on the links check - all of the site. If you do not have this option please download your site, then check using online tools like Net Mechanic.
